Why An Arborfield and Barkham Land Review

The Arborfield and Barkham Neighbourhood Plan Steering Group (ABNPSG), on behalf of Arborfield and Newland and Barkham Parish Councils, is engaged to bring forward a revised Neighbourhood Plan to 2045 for adoption in 2027. It intends that the plan will include proposals to allocate land for development which contribute to its objectives. The ABNPSG has decided to undertake a Land Review to inform it of the availability of land that may qualify for allocation.

Arborfield and Barkham Staying Ahead

The Parish Councils are fully aware of the planning policy context for the area and the separate Wokingham Borough Call for Sites and local plan-making activities. The ABNPSG is working in partnership with the Borough Council to secure a long-term plan-led housing growth strategy for the neighbourhood area through a combination of local and neighbourhood plans. Submissions made to the separate Wokingham Borough Call for Sites will not automatically be passed to the ABNPSG.

How to be involved in shaping the Parishes Future

If you have an interest in such land (as either owner, developer or agent) you are invited to submit a plan showing the extent of any land in your control that you wish to make available in the plan period and any relevant supplementary information that may assist the group in assessing the land for potential allocation.

Please follow the link below to respond by 28th August 2026. Submissions need to be made by this date to be considered.

Respondents should be aware that no personal data will be shared publicly, however details provided in relation to sites may be used as part of the site assessment process, including any community consultation.
